Dearest God, you know that being gracious does not come so easily to me. I grew up in a family where the adults in control managed to belittle the children, tell them harsh untruths about their value and behaviors, and show their ignorance by putting down others who disagreed with their views.
Help me today to be the antithesis of that bringing-up. Let my words be kind, considerate and careful. Let them be grace-filled and loving. Continually remind me that we are all valued and considered precious as your children. And let my actions back up what I say. May it be so.
